Prime Day 2026 Dates and the Autumn Event
Amazon's summer announcement confirms that Prime Day ran June 23-26, 2026. That event has ended. The separate Prime Big Deal Days announcement confirmed October 6-7, 2026, and that event has also ended. The July forecast previously published here was incorrect.
This page explains preparation for Prime shopping events. See our autumn timing guide for the existing October buying decision page.
Check Membership Before Spending
Member-exclusive offers require Prime. A free trial is available only if your account qualifies; check the displayed renewal price, billing date and cancellation terms. Include any membership cost in the purchase calculation. Joining a free deal channel does not grant Prime membership or access to gated prices.
Build a Shortlist and a Price Record
List the exact model, generation, size or pack quantity, seller and condition for each item you already need. Record a dated delivered price and your maximum budget before browsing the sale. Use available Keepa or CamelCamelCamel history as context, noting gaps, seller changes and coupons that may not be represented. An earlier low is a comparison point, not proof that a current higher price is deceptive.
Set an alert that reflects your researched budget rather than an arbitrary percentage below today's price. If an early offer meets your target, assess it on its own terms. There is no guarantee that waiting for the main event or Black Friday will produce a better price.
Compare Offers on the Day
Check the exact specification and condition against competing offers. Add delivery, installation, subscriptions and membership costs where relevant. For open-box products, inspect the condition description, accessories and return terms separately from a new item. A sale badge or an advertised percentage does not establish the best delivered price.
If a limited-time offer expires before you can verify it, use your shortlist and budget to decide whether to pass. Do not assume that every category has a predictable event discount or that a timer proves value.
Coupons, Cashback and Recurring Orders
Treat coupon stacking, cashback and subscription reductions as conditional. Check the current offer's eligible products, seller, payment method and account requirements. Use the final checkout total to confirm any combination; do not assume a blanket open-box promotion or a guaranteed cashback rate. For recurring orders, record the renewal price and cancellation terms before enrolling.
Returns and Gifts
Read the return deadline and condition requirements on the actual listing and order. Do not assume a future Christmas extension applies to an October purchase. Keep the order confirmation and relevant offer terms, particularly when buying gifts or marketplace products.
US Account and Time-Zone Checks
The official autumn announcement gave a US start time of 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 6. For a future event, convert the announced start time for your location rather than assuming a midnight opening in every US time zone. Amazon lists standard US membership at $14.99 per month or $139 per year; check your account for eligibility and current terms before paying.
For US comparisons, include any sales tax shown at checkout as well as delivery charges. Do not compare a pre-tax listing with a tax-inclusive checkout total as if they were equivalent. Availability and delivery promises can vary by address, so enter the actual destination before evaluating an urgent purchase.
Your Preparation Checklist
- Confirm the event dates for your market and account eligibility.
- Record the exact products you need and a maximum delivered price.
- Compare available history and equivalent offers without assuming future discounts.
- Verify the final checkout total, renewal terms and return deadline.
- Skip purchases that do not meet your need or budget.
